In these two exciting days, Tom will start each day with ground archery instruction. He will emphasize form and body mechanics, arrow release techniques and both static and dynamic shooting at targets. Fitness and methods to develop core strength will be addressed. All of these techniques will relate to being on the horse.
The afternoon agenda will include preparing the horse to accept the bow and training the active archer. Riding technique, appropriate saddle and saddle fit for both horse and ride will be discussed. Horse archery will be Introduced at a walk, then trot, and possibly canter. Strategy on the competitive Hungarian course will be introduced.
Historical aspects of horseback archery and tactics, equipment and strategy will be integrated throughout the days. Individual attention based on each rider and horse skill level will be given. Participant numbers will be limited to allow maximum individual attention.
